Apple Pie Cake

1 yellow cake mix
1 t baking powder
3 egg whites -- whipped
20 oz can apple pie filling
1 T oil
1 t cinnamon
½ t lemon extract
¼ t nutmeg
*I fill this with cheesecake and apple pie filling.

Do you mix the 20 oz can of filling in the cake mix or is it used to fill the cake?

I am almost positive you would use that IN the batter, seeing how there is very little moisture in the recipe without it.

Agreed! It sounds good though, doesn't it? icon_biggrin.gif

So I assume you fold the whipped egg whites into the batter. Thank you for your input. I saved this wonderful list of cake recipes from here but some of the recipes have no instructions or bake times.

If you got them from the info in my signature, they come from all the threads with google docs. There are no instructions or bake times on many of them because many of us bake our cakes at certain temps, regardless of what a recipe recommends. For example, most cakes they say to bake at 350, I bake all mine at 325, regardless. The mixing of the wet and dry ingredients almost never changes in any recipe (with very few exceptions) so many of us just do that the way we have been. That's why a lot of the recipes are written with just ingredients. Hope that helps! icon_biggrin.gif
