Hi all - I need help ASAP. I need to create this logo (small enough for on cookies) and am not sure how to do it. I tried piping on wax paper with royal icing but the detail of the swirly lines is too fine. I need to do it in black and then in white as well. Black I'm thinking just to use an edible marker. White (on black background) I'm not so sure.....

Without seeing a photo, would it be possible to pipe the swirly lines in RI with a small tip? My preference would be a PME tip 1, but a Wilton tip 1 would probably be ok, depending on the size of the logo.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but what is the difference between the PME 1 and the Wilton 1? TIA

If the Wilton 1 is larger, there's also a 1A.

Anyhow, for the OP, it's pretty easy to paint with white icing color. Use a script liner paintbrush and practice a little on some scraps before you do the actual painting.

I'd just print it out and take it to my local supermarket bakery and have them print it out on edible image paper. Ice with white royal (assuming it's on a white background) and while it's still slightly wet, put the logo on it. It should melt into the icing and be set when the icing is dry.

You can also use tinypic.com and once the photo is uploaded, copy the IMG code and paste in your message.

Oh thanks, photobucket worked well! Okay here is the logo. I was trying to do with what I have because I am short on time (and the cake shop is a bit far away). Could I paint this with a script liner brush using white RI instead of colouring? Or I do have a powder that is around that similar colour (because it's not quite white) so maybe I could use that to paint...

Most of the cookies will be inverse of those colours because of the black teeth problem with a lot of black on cookies, but some will be same as that for display purposes....

HAHAHA! It is when I get a logo like that I am thankful for my edible image printer. I do not envy you on this one!

Where are you located? When do you need it? I would totally print it out and pop it in the mail, but not if you need it this weekend, it won't work....

Shipping an envelope to Australia is $30!!! WOW!

Here is what I would do:

I would blow it up as much as I could and have it still fit on the cake, and print it out. Get a piece of acetate or clear file folder and tape them together. Trace the light parts with royal icing first and trace the outline with black royal icing. then let it crust a bit, and then water down the black with a couple drops of water and flood fill it with a #4. Make 3 or 4 more, just in case!

You can use a tiny tip, just run your royal through a nylon stocking to get any bits out of it.



Or tell them to can it and give you something easier!

That looks really difficult, I do think checking around to see if you can find someone with an edible image printer is the way to go.
