Do you apply piping gel on your buttercream icing before applying fondant? or do you just dampen the cake? or do you do use something else.

If your icing is fresh ( just iced). Then I usually put nothing, it should adhere just fine. If it has crusted, some say to spray a fine mist of water over buttercream first. HTH...
