What's your favorite fondant to work with, and why?
I've mostly used Satin Ice. I tried Chocopan once, and while I loved the flavor, I found it very difficult to work with. What other brands have you tried, and how do they compare?
This has probably been discussed a thousand times, so if there's an old thread you can point me to, that'd be fine!

My favorite is Michele Foster's fondant (recipe can be found on this site). Up until about a year ago, I used Satin Ice, but when they had all of their problems with producing a consistent quality product, I switched to Michele Foster's. Now it's the only fondant that I use.

I'm limited by what I can get my hands on here in Mexico, but I like FondX a lot - both easy to work with and tasty. I use Satin Ice red and black, because it's too hard to tint fondant those colors. As far as home-made is concerned, I'm a big fan of Michele Foster's recipe, too.
I bought Satin ice and had a horrific batch! It is so expensive and it was so stretchy and wouldn't take color evenly! I am going to try pettinice I hear good things...but Michelle Fosters Fondant is a winner for sure!
I use Fondx exclusively. It tends to dry quicker than Satin Ice, but since I like to roll my fondant on shortening rather than cornstarch, it doesn't get so sticky. I also prefer the flavor of Fondx over Satin Ice. I used to purchase the colored Satin Ice, (red, black, hot pink) but since Fondx has come out with a line of colors I go Fondx all the way.
Thanks for the feedback, everyone! I'm not a make-your-own gal, so I'll just have to settle for one of the second-bests!
