I'm ondering who has made a cupcake tower with cake boards and pillars? I am making one on Sunday and have been advised to stick the pillars in place with chocolate but I am worried that since the venue is an hour away that it will melt on the way there and Im not sure if I should set it up when I get there because its on a dessert table and theres going to be plenty of other things for me to do. How have you stuck these in place? It will be 6 tiers with a 6' mud cake on top and 70 cupcakes. Thanks!!

I have done one but not with pillars. I used a glass candle holder and then filled with glass rocks to match cup pies. I got both the candle holders and rocks from the dollar store. I have pictures in my photos. Hope this helps. Good luck!

That is a gorgeous idea. I was going to use styrofoam rounds wrapped in ribbons but need the space because Im too worried to make it too tall as Ive only ever gone up to 3 tiers. I will try that for the next one though
