Hellp CC Peeps,

There was a cake from a week or two ago (I think) that I commented on and though I saved, but apparently didn't and now I can't find it. It was several tiers, fondant, it had black and white string work on it and had ruffles and stripes. It was very modern and super cool, anyone know the cake I'm talking about?

TIA,

Jen

My eyes are bleeding looking at gallery after gallery trying to find this cake - why can't I search by freakin date here? And BTW, if you post a pic of your work, use some keywords so people can find it again!

Anyway, one more try for some help, this cake had black string and extension work on the bottom tier diagonally, the next tier had white fondant ruffles tipped in black, and I can't remember what the other tiers had on them. It was really couture and unique! Help please!

Is this it? We probably need more of a description. Was it a birthday or wedding cake? Was it round, hexagon or square. Was it a sheet cake, one layer, two, or three layers.

I've been looking but can't seem to find anything...I wish you could kinda draw it and lemme see what you're talking about! HAHA!

I'll keep looking. Google searches are proving to be fruitless as well.

LOL This cake was really rad, not the normal old-fashioned Lambeth. I've googled all the keywords I could think of to try and find it. I've looked thru the round wedding cakes, B&W cakes... I'm going cross-eyed! Somebody has to have it in their favs, it was a most saved - oh I've looked at as many pages of that as I can also..

How about this one?

I've started saving cakes to my computer because my favorites on here would mysteriously disappear and it was very frustrating.

Is there any chance you may have seen it on another site like flickr?

Many times people who post cakes don't add any keywords so you can never find them again. This is a pet peeve of mine.

I agree, I think there should be a little blurb when someone uploads to remind them what information is helpful to know.

Personally, I don't care if the cake was done for your boss' sister's best friend's son's playmate...I care about the flavors and techniques used. Then when it comes time to search, I can remember to search for the cake with the string work or ruffles, I don't have to try to remember it was called "Little Timmy's Circumcision Cake" icon_rolleyes.gif

Nope, those aren't it. Thanks for looking, all. I was going to use it for some inspiration but if I can't find it then I can't give credit for the idea. The ability to search by date would be SO HELPFUL. Grrrr, this website.

I did a search on flickr for black and white tiered cakes and didn't really see anything to fit your description in the first 25 pages. icon_cry.gif

I agree about the keywords, there ought to be a law. And sometimes people put cakes in the wrong gallery. When we were all searching about a week ago for the cake with the words, I was amazed by where folks put their cakes. I'm just saying!!!

I don't want to threadjack, but since I'm 99.99999% sure the cake on this thread has been found, I have to know...did they find the cake with the words? If so, where? I looked forever!

Glad to help....FYI I used google advanced search for images

search terms "black white and stringwork" on the site cakecentral.com

it was on the first page.

But I do think I just got lucky! thumbs_up.gif

LOL! I did that too, but I did "string work" - and got a totally different search. I just did it "stringwork" all one word and there it was! Seriously, thanks!

And I just realized I put "Loking" instead of Looking in my title. Sigh. That's embarrassing. icon_redface.gif

Well I just so happen to have some knowledge of urban culture and "Locs" is a slang word for glasses (usually sunglasses). I thought you were Loc-ing for it...and I wasn't going to fault you for using the "k" instead of "c"...ebonics is not usually concerned with spelling or grammar.

I'm a master of perfectly logical (sounding) explanations.
