My son only wants me to make his cakes. Each yr he picks the theme for his cake. I always do him proud and his friends look forward to see them. Wel this yr is to be a Dallas Cowboys cake. Had it planned out in my head AND THEN COMES IRENE. Power goes out last saturday and party is tommorow. Each day goes by with no electricity. Power wasn't suppose to be fixed until 9/03 His birthday. Explained to my son it looked like a walmart cake this year. You could see the tear in his eye but he understood and smiled. Last night power comes on at midnight, I got up and started baking after a quick run to Walmart for ingredients got the cakes baked before having to be at work at 6am. Got off early today and started decorating. 95% done now, had to scale down a little from plans, my son saw it about a hour ago and that smile made it worth no sleep. He said this was the best one yet. IRENE WE WON. Will finish in the morning starting to see crosseyed lol.
