How do you ladies figure how much you charge for a cake? Cost of ingredients and hours that you worked? I have only been making cakes for family for free, but have been asked to make a couple for $. Woohoo! Wish I could make some $ and quit my desk job and stay home with my baby girl. I am going to attach a photo, would you please give me an idea of what you think I should charge or what you would pay. The bottom layer is 10' and top is 8'. Chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream and regulare buttercream with fondant decorations. I cut out each leopard spot and zebra stripe by hand. I am new to this so it took me about 10-12 hours.
