I am looking for a challenging, sophisticated, child friendly dessert for an end of the summer BBQ. I'm open to cakes, cupcakes, trifles, pies .. anything. I brought a white chocolate almond raspberry trifle to the last one (used up WASC cake bits) and it was superb- a real hit! I'd like something as good... TIA!

This is a perfect time for fresh berries. I just made a berry trifle with strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, bettercreme, wasc cake leftovers. It was simple but oh so wonderful with the fresh berries. Everyone raved and not that much work! I put it in a pretty crystal bowl and piped the bettercreme in pretty roses.
