Hi,
The icing that I use before fondant melts pretty fast not always but now with the hot weather here in CA it does...... A friend told me to add some meringue powder to harden.

Please help ........

English is not my first language and I am not pretty sure of the definition of Buttercream.... my son told me that there is a difference between buttercream and butter..... please help so I don't know how to call my icing or should I say BC ????

This is the receipt (really good) It's been 20 years since I use this icing.

Powder sugar 1.5 kg
Butter 600 grs
Vanilla
6 yolks

How do you make this recipe? It sounds like it would be really good. What your son probably means is that... buttercream can be made with all shortening, instead of butter, so it holds up better in the hot weather. Or some people make it with half butter and half shortening. I'd love it if you could share your recipe with me. Do you cook the eggs first?
