I added orange juice as flavoring to my butter cream, turned out quite tasty! This is possibly a stupid question, but with the juice, it doesn't require refrigeration does it?

*note the butter cream is made with shortening and water, so there's no dairy in it.

2 1/2 teaspoons

The entire recipe makes 2 1/2 cups of butter cream. There's 1 lb of confectioners sugar in it.

I don't think you need to worry, especially if you only use a small amount. I often use juice as the liquid in buttercream with no refrigeration issues.
