Just wanted to say thank you to everyone that gave advice on basically every stenciling thread on here. I think I read them all before trying to stencil my cake. LOL! Here are some of your favorite tips I fell back on:
The vodka on the qtip to clean up mistakes....BRILLIANT.
Leaving the RI to darken overnight....GENIUS.
Using corsage pins to hold the stencil on the side of the cake...LIFESAVER
I've read so many threads that I can't remember where all the credit is due but a general thank you to all that shared!
So, the cake turned out far from perfect but I'm thrilled with it. I can't wait to try another one. Hoping it gets easier as I practice because my brain is filling up with ideas. Hats off to all you stenciling wizards out there!
Just saw the picture. Nice job. It turned out really good.
Saw that you said you used a woodburning tool for it. Neat idea. Never would have thought of that to make a stencil.
Thanks! Actually, I got the idea standing in the stencil aisle at Hobby Lobby. They sold a "stencil pen". Looked just like the woodburning pen that I had at home so I gave it a shot.
