Hello - I am making my first wedding cake for a co-worker. She wants a 10 inch and 8 inch (just two tiers). I have them filled and crumb coated, being put in the freezer for safe keeping until the 30th. I have the 4 inch SPS columns (never used them before). I measured the bottom cake after crumb coating and it is just at 4 inch. Once I put the final coat of icing on it will exceed that a little. What should I do? I can't decide if I should try to go ahead and use it even if the cake is a hair tall or if I should scrap that idea and just use wooden skewers. Suggestions? Thanks!

If it's just a bit over 4" you'll be fine.
