I have just signed up for my first bridal show for this September. As a rookie I would love any advice you can offer on:

what worked/what didn't
attracting brides to your booth
setting up an eye catching booth
handing out samples - should I bother?
or anything else you think maybe helpful

Here's what I suggest: Set up a table with "levels" (you can use upside down boxes) and beautiful tablecloth and flowers. Make "dummy" cakes for display purposes. I always used a digital picture frame that cycles through a huge assortment of Shower cakes, Wedding cakes, Grooms Cakes, you can also have albums available. LOTS of business cards, maybe a drawing for a ?% off a shower cake. And YES - SAMPLES of cake the most popular, the freshest and prettiest!
