We have been in business now for a few months and so far we've had a good steady amount of work! Until the past month or so its been very slow... not sure if this is "normal" or what. Ive been working on ways to advertise that arent crazy expensive, as some of them are these days. We are on a TON of websites listed for wedding cakes, facebook, twitter, our own website ...
weve handed out alot of fliers in our city at events.

even donated 2 big 3D cakes to to BIG events locally... which we did get a few mentions from.

and now im out of ideas of how to get more business. every customer we get just raves about our work ...the question is how to reach more people because i feel like alot of people just dont know who we are yet.
any advice ??? icon_smile.gif

How has your web site traffic been since then? If site traffic has dropped, then you'll want to look into advertising with Google AdWords, Yelp, Facebook, etc. If traffic hasn't dropped, there may be a local competitor who is undercutting you on price, check out other local bakeries to see what they offer and how you compare.

You might also want to network with wedding planners and venues, or look into wholesale opportunities to supplement your retail business.

There was a CC thread about AdWords a while ago, it's a way to advertise on Google by targeting specific search terms.

Yelp is an independent review site that lists reviews for many types of businesses. About 25% of our web site traffic comes from our Yelp page (and that's without buying ads on Yelp).
