I was wondering if anyone had a cheap frosting recipe to practice with. I dont want to make something expensive if I am just going to throw it away. Thanks!!

Oooh, sorry no recipe, but if it were I, I wouldn't throw the icing away. My sister and niece will eat any icing, in a bowl, with a spoon!--messed up, dried bits, globs, smooth, grainy, you name it.

The Wilton class buttercream recipe is pretty cheap. Don't waste money on meringue powder if it's going to be thrown away. Just powdered sugar, water, and shortening. Are you practicing your consistencies?
