I am making a fishing cake. I have made the fish shape out of RKT. I plan to cover with fondant and make gumpaste fins. I will paint with gel colors or spray, which ever I feel is best when I see the blank fish. The fish is going to be jumping out of cake (water). I want the the fish to have the wet look, shiny but not sparkly. I thought about clear piping but wouldn't that smear the paint? Thought about spraying it with cooking spray also. Will that work? What is best, canola, olive...? Thanks! If anyone has any other advice on making a bass jumping out of a pond cake let me know!
