Okay so I am a novice and have only used wiltons buttercream for my cakes. I recently tried indydebi's buttercream and it was still very sweet. I have made smbc but I am concerned that may not be stable or sit well under fondant. I guess I am asking what are some other frostings icings and fillings that I can try that aren't to advanced or sweet? Also can I flavor regular buttercream with say raspberry jam or lemon extract? Will that help it taste less sweet? I basically makes cakes for fun but I would like them to taste good ..im guessing its not a good thing when your three year old says " its too sweet ma"
