hello everyone
I need to come up with a couple medeterranian inspired cake ball recipes. I'm trying to find somethings with the flavors of cardomom, dates, rose water, almonds, pistachios, etc....
I dont mean with ALL those flavors, just the basic idea.

I was thinking for one I could make a date cake infused with a little cardomom, but what would I use as a binder?

If anyone else has any ideas I would LOVE to hear them!! Thank you!

I think the date cake with cardamom sounds really good with a lemon cream cheese frosting or lemon buttercream, just a hint but not full on "wow that's lemony". Also, for pistachio cake I take my normal vanilla cake and add some pistachio pudding and ground up pistachios and it's delish!

I would use a cinnamon buttercream with the date flavor. My grandparents are Lebanese and they use a LOT of cinnamon in their savory dishes as well as sweet ones. You could also try honey...I bet that would be good.
