I am making a wedding cake for a friend. The plan is for it to be a three tier square cake (6-8-10 inch tiers) covered in quilted ivory fondant with a cascade of purple and orange calla lilies. I plan on buying the gumpaste calla lilies as I do not have time to make them all and then coloring them accordingly. My problem is that they come in several sizes and I'm not sure which size would be appropriate for this size cake. I feel like 2.5 inch calla lilies sound right but I have never bought sugar flowers before. What do you think? Also, I am assuming I need to buy them wired since they will be on the sides of the cake correct? Thanks for any assistance! I am attempting to attach the pic of the cake the bride wants although its round and four tiers.
