The person wants the cake to be two tier. One tier zebra stripes and the other tier girraffe print. However, she also wants it to coordinate with the plates and napkins which have no zebra stripes and no real giraffe spots. The plates are chocolate brown, polka dots, and cute little monkey and other simple animals. The animals are more polka dotted than acutal animal prints. How can I cooridinate the cake with the plates? I need ideas.

You can't coordinate zebra stripes and giraffe print if these patterns are not on the plates and napkins. Contact your client and explain this and ask her/him to clarify in detail what is required.
