Hello everybody I am making a 3-d basketball cake, I am going to be using the Wilton sports ball pan, I want it to be covered in fondant so I get a perfect look, but I want it to have alot of buttercream on it so it tastes good! because Im just not a fan of the taste, even MMF.

So, here we go.

1.Can I torte & layer the ball shape or does that ruin the perfect sphere shape?

2.What is the best way to cover in fondant, without a seam on the bottom?

3.Should I put a cake board between the top & bottom layers of the cake?

4.I have heard that if you put to much buttercream, or filling the cake gets wobbly and loose's its shape, true??

Any other tips, or tutoriols are greatly appreciated, or if you have had experience working with the "ball shape cake" please help!

THANK YOU!!
