Any suggestions? I already have a few on my list of must haves (Debbie Brown, Planet Cake, Confetti Cakes) but some other ideas would be fantastic.
Have to add, I was looking on the Australian Borders Books website and they quoted... $209.00 for a hardcover edition of Debbies 50 Party cakes. That can't be right can it?
TIA
Toba Garrett has some excellent books. Some are almost like textbooks. I have all her books they are awesome! Here are my favorites, All are good for beginner to advanced decorator.
"the well decorated cake" this is the least expensive of her books at around $15. It's also the smallest, but still goes into great detail.
"wedding cake art and design" great info in this book, I especially like the fact that it includes info on the business aspect of making cakes.
"professional cake decorating" this book is like my cake deco bible. It pretty much has lessons on almost every technique there is. This is pretty much a textbook. The chapters are actually lessons and each lesson is followed by a review/practice test for the techniques learned in that lesson. I literally have hundreds of cake deco books, (honestly some I have never even read, I am just addicted to collecting them) but if I ever had to just choose one to keep, it would be Toba garrett's "Professional Cake Decorating" it's a great learning tool for the beginner and an awesome reference for the intermediate and advanced decorator. The most expensive I've seen this book is $60 but well worth it.

I love Toba Garret, too. I also recommend Alan Dunn's "Wedding cake Decorator's Bible". Lots of pictures and instructions for a variety of techniques.
