I make modified box mixes & I have a dumb question regarding vanilla cake. Do people usually refer to a white box cake as vanilla or a yellow box cake?

My vanilla cakes are yellow because it is my preference. Vanilla is just the flavoring. To me, it is a cake that has a pronounced vanilla taste. White is just as acceptable.
