Imbc Vs Smbc

I have only used Regular American butter cream... My kids say it is tooooo sweet!!! So I would like to try either the imbc or the smbc...
What one is better in both taste and to decorate?
What is the difference?
What one is easier to make?
I will most likely end up trying them both but at least with your input I will know what one to try first...
