I was wondering if I could do a combination of both items. I read somewhere online (now I cant find the site) that I can do 1/3 cup of oil and 2/3 cup of apple sauce for 1 cup of butter..

Is this able to be done in the following flavors:

Vanilla, Smores, Red Velvet, Bananas Fosters and Strawberry Shortcake... if not, are there any inexpensive ways to sub for butter?

Not sure about applesauce for butter. But I have used applesauce for oil. No more than half of what the recipe calls for. Ex- recipe calls for 1 1/4 cup oil, use 1/2 cup applesauce 3/4 cup oil. Have you googled substituting applesauce for butter?

I have googled what can nbe subbed for butter. I got an aswer that said 1/3 c of oil and 2/3 cup of applesauce. I knows my grandmother uses apple sauce instead of butter, she has done it for years but I just wanted to get someones opinion on what I found on the internet.
