Hi this weekend is the 1yr ann of my mother in laws mothers passing and there having a get together for tons of family an she wants me to make desserts an cupcakes for it an wants it to be memorial themed.umm what does that mean crosses? Help..whats appropriate

You could do crosses or maybe some small flowers on top.

Find out what they want. They might want a celebration of what she was all about... her job, hobby, interests, awards, etc.

We did that for our aunt who collected ducks... a rubber ducky cake was appropriate. This year we're having rubber ducky races in the swimming pool!

I did a memorial cake back in October and I did quilted fondant with tiny forget me nots where the lines met and a gumpaste cross on top with the saying "forever in our hearts". It was beautiful and the family really loved it.
