Hello,

I was asked by my last two customers for a cake testing before they place their cake order - totally understandable, but I have never done a cake testing before...
How much do I charge, do I charge?! icon_sad.gif

Please help! TIA icon_smile.gif

I do tastings for $25, which will go towards the cost of their order if they book. That covers 2 people max, and I provide three cake flavors, fillings and frostings. I'm a small operation, but everyone that has done a tasting with me has booked. Be careful though to set a guideline on a minimum order for your tasting clients...from what I've read here many people say tastings only for orders for 100+ people. It's not cost effective to do tastings for a cake that is just for 15-30 people (they will ask!).

Thanks guys..
If they don't book then you get your money back no matter what.. the $25
And if they book the money goes towards the cake... ok ok..

If they just want to try one flavor - it would be cheaper to just make say 12 cupcakes of the flavor they know they want...
