Hi! I am reposting this forum from how do I... hope to get a few more replies icon_smile.gif

I am trying to replicate the house in up... and at the moment feel a lot like Charlie Brown - I'm doomed... icon_cry.gif

I plan on using lots of gumpaste and will only make the front door portion of the house as actual cake. What can I use to make the rest of the house?

My thought was to use store bought graham crackers but with all the details to be made in advance, my fear is that the royal icing I will be using to attach siding and roofing would soften the crackers and break. I've never made ginger bread, is this the way to go?

I don't mind using styrofoam. From experience know I'd have to cover in fondant before detailing... what do you think?

Advice, tips, help, your experiences would be greatly greatly appreciated!!! TIA thumbs_up.gif

This is not my cake but I thought it was very well done. Maybe you could message the baker for advice. HTH
