Hi,

I'm looking at making cookies for the first time but am just overwhelmed with it all. I'm not sure which sugar cookie recipe to choose, royal icing recipe & how to store them. Can I freeze them decorated. I'm just making some for my daughters birthday party but not really sure where to start icon_lol.gif

Any help, recipes etc would be great!!!!! icon_biggrin.gif

Welcome to the wonderful world of cookie decorating! Enter with caution...you may get hooked... icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

Here is a good cookie recipe to start with:

As well as a good icing recipe:

I usually store cookies in a an air tight conainer on the counter for no more than 5 days after baking. If I need them farther out, they go into the freezer. If they are decorated, stack them between layers of waxed paper in an air tight container. When thawing, put them on the counter and don't touch them until they are completely thawed and all condensation has evaporated.

Have fun and be sure to post pictures!
