I covered a fondant cake for the second time and my layers were 5" high....when I draped the fondant over the buttercream covered cake it was like putting a tablecloth on a round table....the excess fondant drove me crazy even though i smoothed it around like I would with a shallower cake...too much excess left me with alot of tears and corrections to make which I covered with ribbons of fondant.....would love a solution or better technique
