I'm trying to find this locally. My local Cash & Carry has something called Viva. Has anyone heard of this brand and is it really hi ratio? Thanks!

I've just joined and really find the information from the pro's helpful.

Hi and Welcome to CC, Keciak. icon_smile.gif

(Well, with that limited info) according to this Viva product blurb, you've purchased lard:

Hi-ratio shortenings aren't usually found in retail groceries. I'd try a cake decorating shop or restaurant supply store. If you're bold, you can even ask your local bakery if they'd sell you some. And you can purchase online (but normally not during the hot summer months).

Additionally, if you have access to a GFS (Gordon Food Service) the special order manager should be able to order a 50# cube of Sweetex for you.

Thank you. I'll try you're suggestions. Luckily I hadn't bought any Viva - I was still in research mode!
