Anybody have any tips on covering a cake that goes from larger to smaller, i.e. the sides of the cake slanted outward so the bottom of the cake was smaller than the top.
I had to cover a heart in which the base of the cake was smaller and the fondant starts to bunch up/pleat at the bottom. It turned out alright, espcially because I ended up having to use a border which covered up some of the worst pleating, but you could still see some faint pleating.
It's really the same technique, you just have to stretch, pull, and smooth - there is just more to have to do it to.
