Does anybody have any ideas for a cake for an auctioneer? Group wants to thank him for his services he has provided them throughout the years and also celebrate his birthday. This is for a 8-10" cake.

I don't know much about it - an auctioneer for what? livestock? That could make a big difference in what you put on it. You could make a figure of him with a microphone and mimic the setting he is usually in.

I was thinking a gavel too, and maybe add few gumpaste auction pieces as well.

Gavel! I'm with everyone else on that one...thAt is the first thing to comes to my mind, when I hear 'auctioneer'

I would say gavel as well...maybe it could be on or next to an auction bid card
