I have a request for a Baby Shower cake, and the mother to be requested a turtle theme. She does not know the sex of the baby yet but will in a week. The baby shower is in May. I had a thought of making baby turtles with the shell in the color pink or blue depending on the sex of the baby, but I don't know how I would present that. Does anyone have any thought or ideas on a turtle themed baby shower cake? I work with buttercream, royle icing, color flow icing, and fondent. I know a little gum paste but I am still learning and honing my skills with it. Thank you for any help, tips and ideas it is very appreciated.

You could do a turtle shaped cake with the turtle sleeping under a pink or blue blanket.

Maybe decorate the cake with Turtles donning little (pink or blue) booties and hats crawling around and playing about.
