so I was attempting a peanut butter cake with peanut butter caramel buttercream for tomorrow...

I was making indydeb's crusting bc and added peanut butter and then home made caramel sauce. apparently i added too much peanut butter (2 teaspoons?!?) and the pb taste is too much. i added more and more caramel but its just not doing it. i cannot taste the caramel,so i figure i have two options, figure out how to get a more caramel taste in the bc? or use the leftover caramel as filling. problem is the caramel is not thickening??? any help appreciated!!

make some plain buttercream, add some caramel to it, then add your old icing until the taste is what you wanted.
