I have a bride that wants a square wedding cake. However, in the picture that she showed me, it looks like the square tiers are sitting on top of other tiers that are so much smaller:

Cake: 6" square
then a 4" square (something)
Cake: 8" square
then a 6" square (something)
Cake: 10" square
then a 8" square (something)
Cake: 12" square

Pink Cake box has this cake on their blog www.blog.pinkcakebox.com
You can click "View Gallery" - click Wedding Cakes
It's on the 5th page & it's the 3rd from the last.
Champagne colored cake with black tiny layers in between the reg cake layers.... (I would post this picture, but I'm not sure how to)-

Any advice on how I would go about doing this?? Are the black layers actual cake or would you use some sort of support like iced styrofoam?? HELP!!![/img]

It looks like it's only a 4 tier cake. In the headlines it says 4 tier wedding cake. I wondering if you take maybe styrafoam squares and cover them in fondant if that would work. It would almost have to be something sturdy to hold the layers. You will probably also need to put the plastic tier trays under each cake so that they don't collapse on the hangover part. Hope this helps. Good luck!
