I made a little drummer boy with gumpaste/fondant and it got hard and was ok, till today as the humidity level was high 83% the little figurine kept falling apart and became soft. i had to re-do the entire body and limbs. is there any thing that i can do to prevent this, the next two days are going to be worse. i dont have a/c only evaporative cooling and it doesnt help. even rolling out fondant, was next to impossible. i have to give my cake on saturday. any advice will be greatly appreciated

Adding cornflour helps the paste to dry. Also add a glue powder like tylose or CMC. Dry under a lamp. Put it in a closed container in a cupboard once it is dry. You can even put some silica jel sachets found in pill boxes in the container. Good luck.
