looking for a doctored cake mix recipe first doing this. Scared to try the white almond sour cream I see here. Don't know if would be too much for a sweet 16 crowd

Too much in what sense?
I use the extender recipe on here, which is much like the WASC cake, only it uses 1 cake mix rather than two. You can divide all the ingredients in the WASC in half and only bake it with one cake mix.
