I need to make a cherry filling in a couple of weeks for a cake. Does anybody have a recipe that they just love for cherry filling?

I use a 16 oz. jar of cherry preserves, one small box cherry jello, and one 16 ox. can of tart cherries (drained). I mix the jello and preserves together until it's not gritty and then fold in the fruit. I use fresh cherries when they are in season.

I like to use Cherry Pie filling mixed with my buttercream. Experiment with the ratios to suit your taste. I usually do about half and half.

i use this Raspberry filling recipe and substitute ANY frozen fruit. For cherries I have found out the only use about 1/2-3/4 the amount of sugar called for because they are already sweet enough. I have done cherry, blueberry, cranberry, pineapple, peach, raspberry, and strawberry using this recipe.
