I am making a cookie wreath and would like to secure the cookies to the plate so that the wreath keeps it's shape. I will also be layering the cookies. I don't want to use royal icing -- because it dries so hard, and I'm afraid when someone tries to pick the cookie up it will break. Any suggestions?

Butter Cream icing in a nice med/stiff consistency so they don't slide around.... Thats all I can think of. Piping Gel will make them slide I think.
