I'm sorry if i'm not allowed to link to pictures ,but its the only way i can ask my question.

I am doing a similar cake with slightly different colors ,but i really want to incorperate those 'stamen' looking things? I'm not sure what it is exactly.. pinecone or acorn buds maybe?

Anyways i tried just rolling a small cone shaped and sticking a wire into it with flower glue but it deformed the shape and the wire didn't catch.. Could someone please help if they've made something similar or how they would go about making them? They seemed so simple and turned out to be very difficult...

Thank you!

Maybe try gluing it with a dab of white chocolate. That's what I do when I attach balls to wire and it works every time!

hook the end of the wire. dip hooked end into gum glue. wipe off excess gum glue so that the end is barely damp with glue. insert hooked end into bead of gumpaste. roll/manipulate gumpaste to form and secure it to wire.

too much gum glue will definitely cause issues in forming buds/berries on wires.
