Please help me with your awesome brainstorming skills. Here is your mission if you so choose to accept it. It's a difficult one!
1. Make a holiday cake to feed 100 people.
2. It needs to be 2 tiers.
3. Buttercream with minimal fondant.
4. Needs to look "Martha Stewarty"
and here's the kicker
5. She only wants to spend $50
Please help. This is for my little girl's teacher and I don't usually make cakes this cheap, but she's a really good teacher (my daughter is 2 and can read at a 2nd grade level, can do 1st grade math, and is excited to go to school everyday) and she's in charge of the food for her boyfriends work Christmas party. He's a doctor at a naval clinic and there will be both adults and children there.
I think you could transfer any of those into buttercream with fondant decorations.
If you stay away from too much red and green, and go towards the white/light blue wintery kind, you might get the Martha Stewarty clean look.

Wow!! Thanks so much for all those pictures!!! I had a hard time finding very many holiday cake pictures online. Did you just go on flickr and search for christmas cakes?
