I am making my first lego cake any tips? Do you make the round knobs on top of the cake seperate and then place on cake or do you add them to the basic cake and cover the whole thing in fondant? would love any hints also any hints on making lego characters

I have one in my pics. I just cut out the legos from fondant then took one of my icing tips, cut the circles. If you put the fondant legos in the fridge to chill, then pull them out and put the dots on they stick pretty good when it comes back to room temp!

I have one in my pics, too. I used my bread pans to make large lego's, then used a biscuit cutter to cut the fondant for the knobs. It was pretty easy to do and the boys loved it! (so did my girls)
