For my buttercream icing I tried brown and since I didn't have orange I used yellow and some pink but didn't like the shade of it. what do you use to get the roasted turkey color for buttercream?

When I did mine years ago I want to say I started with white icing (crusting buttercream), then I brushed brown food coloring mixed with real vanilla on it. I liked the way it came out because it wasn't a perfect solid color across the board.

Texassugar, was it easy to apply? It didn't lift the icing?
