Hello! I am beginning the design idea process for a cake for the local teachers reading council meeting. The theme this year is "Reading connects the dots" or "Reading makes connections". Any ideas?
Thanks!
Last year I had a pretty super cake to go with the theme so I set my bar pretty high!
how big are you making the cake.
The obvious would be a sheet cake with dots that connect into a book. The more advanced would be a 2 tier with fondant children sitting reading and a book as the topper or the stack of books cake with the last tier as an open book of connect the dot puzzles.
I was thinking connect the dots too.
Or...you know how there are lacing cards? You can cut out card-shapes out of fondant, and then hole-punch the insides to form letters...add fondant/icing "lacing string"... you could do A B C or any words with the cards laced together.
Or! Puzzle-piece letters...again, fondant puzzles pieces that have letters on them that connect together to make words.
Good luck!
