I have been seeing the snowglobe cakes on here and love them. But, how do you make them? Can you use a glass votive cup and if so, won't it sink into the icing?
I made them last Christmas as gifts for my co-workers and I used the coke brand bottles they distribute around the holidays that are round. I cut off the 'spout' top with a utility knife the inverted them over a fondant figure on top of a cupcake. I have recently seen at Wal-mart the same bottles shaped like baseballs and basketballs! HTH
I am in Ohio and I have never seen them but think they are adorable as well. what about those tops they put on the fancy coffees say at Starbucks....it is round but has a place on top for a straw...it snaps on a cup. Bet you could find a cup distributor and buy them in bulk. Saw cute cupcakes on line using the round coke bottles.
Those would probably work with the big cupcakes or smaller cakes. Thanks for the idea!!
I just picked up a couple of plastic ornaments that come apart from Hobby Lobby that you can use for the globes.....I think I paid around $1.50 a piece for them.
oooohhhh--I forgot to think about Christmas ornaments at Hobby Lobby. I love that store. Thanks for the idea.
I am out of the loop here. I can not get a mental picture of what these look like. Does anyone have a link on here with a picture?
Thanks
