I am doing a wedding cake in Dec. for a friend. She found one she loves while watching amazing wedding cakes. It was by Christoper Garren and was the blue sapphire cake. I can not locate a photo of the cake.

What she was really interested in was was the fact that the top of the cake was a different color than the sides. In his cake the top was blue and the sides were white. Has only one seen a cake like this? I have googled but I am not sure what to call it.

TIA

I can't find the picture anywhere, but here is a sneak peek video that shows a clip of the cake drawing, as well as one of the tiers with the blue top, covered with white fondant on the sides.

It was called the Blue Draped Fabric cake...

The Blue Sapphire cake was actually Cake Alchemy's cake during that episode

I remember that Chris's assistant airbrushed the top blue then wrapped a collar of white fondant around the sides, slightly higher than the top of the cake. So it looked like the top was inset slightly if that makes sense. I don't remember the rest of the designs tho sorry.
