Im going to be making an Alabama football cake for my boyfriend this week. I need ideas on what to do with it. Im going to be making a 2 tier cake with fondant. I will be using either 9 and 8 round pans, 9 and 6, or 8 and 6. I need ideas for how I could decorate it. Any ideas or tips? Thanks
Oh and when stacking the 2 tiers do I need to put any dowel rods in them? (this is my first 2 tiered cake)

My advice would be to decorate it strictly in orange and blue with a giant Go Gators on top!! Sorry, just had to get that out! To be serious, yes, you definitely need dowels in the bottom tier to support the top tier, I would recommend using 4. As far as decoration, I would maybe do the bottom tier in a houndstooth pattern, maybe a small black&white diamond checkerboard type pattern, to resemble Bear Bryant's hat? Then the top tier in the Crimson Tide colors? Good Luck!
