We are going to try and attempt a engagment ring cake. We went out and bought a "ring" but it is heavy. Does anyone have suggestions on how we get the ring to stand up in the cake?

How to make a gumpaste one that will stand up and not crack? And how far in advance would you have to make it?

I used a hair head band from the dollar store - as my base for the ring, covered in fondant and stuck down in the cake, no problems
